This recipe is tested, easy to prepare and the outcome is impossible to resist. The recipe makes about 4 servings but if you wish to make less just scale down the ingredients.



Ingredients:

* 8 to 10 strawberries (you can use fresh or frozen strawberries but remember to use a few more strawberries if the ones you have are small)
* 2 cups of chilled milk (preferably full cream because it makes the taste of the milkshake more creamy and flavorsome). A friend of mine makes this recipe with soy milk or almond milk and she loves the result!
* 1 scoop of organic vanilla ice cream or 1 heaped spoon of organic strawberry or vanilla yoghurt (the best are the natural pot-set yoghurts)
* 2 small ice cubes (especially when you’re not adding any ice cream)
* 2 teaspoons of raw sugar or 1 teaspoon of agave nectar or a dash of stevia or 1 teaspoon of organic honey (Since being introduced to agave nectar I have been religiously making this recipe using the agave nectar and I have not been disappointed)

Method:

* Wash the strawberries, remove the leaf bits and chop the strawberries roughly. Blend the chopped strawberries, milk, ice-cubes, sugar and ice cream or yoghurt together in a blender or using a hand-held mixer until well blended and frothy. When using ice cubes the blending time should be around 3 minutes to ensure the ice was crushed properly and the mixture is creamy.

* Check if the strawberry milkshake is sweet enough as different strawberries offer different sweetness levels. If needed, adjust the sweetness by adding a little more sugar, agave nectar, stevia or honey.

* Pour the strawberry milkshake into glasses and serve with pieces of freshly cut strawberries and if you’re craving more sweetness a dollop of whipped cream. The milkshake also presents very beautifully if you decorate it with some mint leaves.
